It's 2020, May to be precise.

In South Africa, we had a good start to the year.
And then the strangest, movie-like events gripped our country as it was gripping the rest of the world!

COVID-19 became a reality to us.

And now?
Now we are in a weird and uncomfortable place.
Some find themselves suddenly unemployed, hungry, unable to pay their bills.
Some are terrified because they have co-morbidities that make them vulnerable.
Some may even have lost someone to the virus.

We feel panicked, at a loss, hopeless.
We go through strange emotions, emotions that mimic the grieving cycle and it makes us even more
confused.

I want to encourage you that this painful period will pass.
I want to encourage you to hold onto God.
And I want to remind you to breathe.

Nothing fancy, nothing time consuming.

Just a few deep breaths in, and a few deep breaths out.

Let's do a few together:

Take a deep breath in through your nose, let it fill your lungs slowly over 6 counts,

(allow your relaxed tummy to rise as you fill up your lungs completely)

then sigh the breath out for 8 counts

(breathe out through pursed lips, a relaxed mouth or through your nose, it doesn't matter).

Do 4 more of those while allowing your shoulders and back to release tension with each exhale.

Take good care of yourself!
